It typically takes about 2-4 weeks for a standard 5-page website. There are quite a few factors that influence this time, including how soon clients respond to content requests as well as the availability of our copywriter and designer. More complex projects may take up to 6 weeks, depending on requirements.
You do! Even if we bought the domain for you, if you decide to leave us, you take your domain with you. No funny business, you bought it you own it.
For us, it comes down to four things: reliability, customizability, authority, and security. Builders like WordPress rely on third-party code, are restricted in what you can do with them, have plugins that may or may not work and need constant updating, and, to put it simply, WordPress and builders are not known for security. Some are even known for their lack of security making them prime targets for hackers.
Custom code really is better than builders. Builders like WordPress typically have databases even for websites that don't need them, meaning they always have admin and login pages. Not only is this an easier access point for hackers to target, but builders also generally come with bloat, reducing their speed and overall security. Not only do we write all the code ourselves, but because the pages are static (pure HTML and CSS), there is no way to hack into them. Let's make sure your website isn't used to run a crypto miner or redirect to a scam. That would be... very bad.
PageSpeed Insights and Lighthouse tests are both ways to measure performance, accessibility, best practices, and technical SEO. PageSpeed Insights is Google's own tool that runs real-time tests while also pulling historical data when available. Lighthouse, on the other hand, is built into most Chromium-based browsers within dev tools. The major difference between the two is that Lighthouse runs locally on your own computer, while PageSpeed Insights leverages stored data when possible. I've also found that PageSpeed Insights applies harsher throttling, making perfect scores even more challenging to achieve.
Keeping accessibility in mind will bring you a broader audience. There are many disabilities, often unspoken, that get forgotten about. We won't forget! Not only will a broader audience find your site, but your audience will also appreciate you for it.
We mean exactly that! Unlimited edits on our subscription plans. This means that if you want to change some content on your site, simply let us know, and it'll be updated. This does not include full redesigns, but our goal is client happiness, so we will work with you to ensure you're satisfied with the design. A standard website lifecycle is around five years, so every 4-5 years, we offer complete redesigns to keep things up to date. This applies to subscription packages.
We can do it! Whether you want a blog, a menu for your restaurant, or maybe auto or house listings for your agency, we can make it happen. On the Business Plan, that would be a $250 upfront add-on, while on the Business Pro plan, a custom CMS is included.
To keep prices low, we decided to go with a subscription model, allowing smaller businesses to still get professional websites. On our Business and Business Pro plans, there is no upfront cost, but this also means it takes us 5+ years for a website to truly be profitable. Of course, by then, the goal is for your return to exceed—and continue exceeding—what you pay us. We take all the risks so you don't have to.
For subscription clients, the website remains active only while subscribed. After completing the 12-month minimum contract, you can cancel at any time, but the website will be taken down upon cancellation. For lump sum clients, you own the website completely and can request the files at any time. We also offer add-ons to our lump sum clients if they choose to host with us and retain us for unlimited edits.
On the subscription plans, after a one-year minimum contract, yes, you can cancel at any time. Of course, we hope you don't, as the whole point of the subscription model is for us to grow together, but if you must go, we will miss you. Don't worry, you'll always be welcomed back!
Yes! Even if we bought the domain for you, we still believe that you bought it, so you own it.
There is no buyout price on the subscription plans. If that were the case, the risk we take would be easily bypassed, and we'd never be able to focus on growing our clients. It takes us about three years to receive the same amount through a subscription as a lump sum would cost, and in that time, we also have hosting, maintenance, and other expenses tied to the website. This means that to see an actual profit, it takes 5+ years. We take the risk so you don't have to!
Yes and no! SEO is core to a professional and successful business website, but it's composed of two parts—on-page and off-page SEO. As for what we do, we handle the on-page aspects, including technical SEO, for our clients. This means your robots.txt and sitemap will be updated, your site will have fast load times, meet accessibility standards, be integrated with Google Search Console, and, importantly, include properly optimized meta tags.
We get it—things can fall through the cracks. We hope we aren't one of them, but if we are, no worries! There's a full seven-day grace period, and after that, a $25 late fee will be applied. We understand that life happens, so if you miss a payment and realize it, simply let us know, and we'll work with you. If this becomes recurring, multiple invoices are overdue, and there's no communication, we may need to terminate the contract. In that case, we take the lump sum price, subtract what you have already paid, and send an invoice for the remaining amount. We really don't want to, so please don't make us!
Simple! Let us know, and we can do it. It's a one-time $100 payment. This is especially useful for those planning to add services or location pages. If you have many pages, let us know, and we can possibly apply a discount.
SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, is the practice of optimizing a website to improve its visibility and ranking in organic search results. It involves keyword research, on-page optimization, and technical improvements. SEO is a key part of any Search Engine Marketing (SEM) strategy.
Absolutely, good SEO works—but it takes time. Nothing is instant, and ranking on Google definitely isn't… unless you already have millions of followers or are an established brand. If anyone every promises that you can rank within a few months, run.
Any marketing agency, developer, or person who claims they can guarantee front-page rankings in less than six months is lying. The only exceptions are influencers, major news features, or businesses that already have strong public recognition. For most websites, it typically takes 6 to 12 months to start ranking on Google because competition is almost always high.
SEO is a long-term strategy, not a quick fix. On average, noticeable improvements take 6 to 12 months, depending on factors like competition, keyword difficulty, and the effort put into optimization.
Yes, SEO audits are part of our process. They help identify technical issues, content gaps, and areas for improvement. A proper audit is the first step in making sure your site is fully optimized.
From a development standpoint, I ensure that websites are built with clean, efficient code, fast load times, proper heading structures, optimized meta tags, and full mobile responsiveness. SEO isn't just about keywords, it starts with a well-built site.
AEO, or Answer Engine Optimization, is similar to SEO but focuses on structuring content so that AI-driven search tools—like Google's AI Overview and ChatGPT—can easily understand and pull from it. SEO helps rank in search results, while AEO helps get featured in AI-generated answers. Don't worry, we understand and target both to ensure you appear in every place people are searchng.
To get featured, content needs to be clear, well-structured, and easy for AI to process. That means using proper headings, schema markup, and writing in a way that directly answers questions. We focus on making sure our clients' content is formatted so that AI tools can actually find and use it.
Passion and a love for what we do! In all seriousness though, starting a new business can be rough and costs matter. The goal is to bring you a higher return than what you invest, so that's why we do this subscription-based model. With this model, you're able to get a professional, custom-coded website without a giant upfront investment. It takes about 3 years of subscription to make what we would as a lump sum project; however, then we factor in hosting, maintenance, and other expenses. This means it actually takes about 5 years to see a real profit. We take the risk so you don't have to!
We get it, things happen. If you need to cancel before the 12-month minimum is up, we simply take our lump sum price, subtract what you have already paid, and send an invoice for the difference.
For most invoices, we will send an email with a Stripe link to a secure payment gateway. We accept all major credit and debit cards. To minimize processing fees on lump sum projects, we accept ACH bank transfers. WE DO NOT ACCEPT CHECKS, MONEY ORDERS, CRYPTO, OR THIRD-PARTY PAYMENT SYSTEMS.
We get it, it happens, and things can fall through the cracks. We hope that we aren't one to fall through, but if we are, no worries. There's a full 7-day grace period, and after that, a $25 late fee will be applied. We understand that life happens, so if you miss one and realize it, simply let us know, and we'll work with you. If this becomes recurring, multiple invoices are overdue, and there's no communication, we may need to terminate the contract. In which case, we take the lump sum price, subtract what you have already paid, and send an invoice for the full amount. We really don't want to, so please don't make us.
You are free to cancel, and we will refund for our services during the design phase if we aren't able to produce a design you're happy with. When development actually starts and you have agreed to the design, refunds are no longer available. From then on, refunds are solely at our discretion. This applies to both lump sum and subscription models.
Welcome back! For the subscription model, simply sign another year-long minimum contract, and we've got you covered.
After the year-long minimum, your subscription lasts for as long as you're with us. If you do decide to leave us after that year, we will be very sad and will miss you. The whole point of the subscription model is so that we can grow together, but don't worry! You'll always be welcomed back to us!
Simple! Let us know, and we can do it. It's a single one-time $100 payment. This is especially useful for those who plan to add services or location pages. If you have a group, let us know, and we can apply a discount.
YES! Speaking a bit informally here, my B.S. is actually in Cyber Security. One of my favorite classes and topics is hacking, specifically web exploitation, so I can speak from experience on both the attacker side and development side. Custom static HTML and CSS will always be by default more secure than web builders. Not only is all of the code created by us—meaning no third-party, possibly malicious or outdated code—we actually own what we use.
Builders like WordPress, Wix, and any other drag-and-drop builder use outdated code and packages, many of which end up having known CVEs (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures). Many times, especially with WordPress, it's just misconfigured admin logins or exposed databases leading to surprisingly easy exploitation. We use pure HTML and CSS, meaning full static websites with no weird login pages, moving parts, and no databases; simply pure static websites that are impossible to hack.
A point to how common web vulnerabilities are: when you go to the official CVE website cve.org, the first keyword prompt in the search bar is "SQL injection," which is the most common attack on exposed and misconfigured databases and login pages, especially with WordPress.Yes and no. In web development, typically the languages that cause most problems are SQL (through databases), PHP (typically used to handle backends and logins), and JavaScript. JavaScript is a very capable language and, like PHP, can be used during the auth process of logins. For us, we use JavaScript as sparingly as possible and strictly for cosmetics. For example, this FAQ page is running some JavaScript to handle the animations between the different sections. The main languages we use for our websites are HTML and CSS, both of which are not known attack vectors.
I'd rather not dwell on something happening, but life is unpredictable, and I would be unprepared if I did not have an answer to this. Don't worry! Your website won't disappear or become unusable. There is a setup to easily transfer to another web developer I know, and if that doesn't work, since we use pure HTML and CSS, any web developer should be able to take the code and set up the website.
Yes! We do not use plugins. Builders like WordPress have a history and reputation for using plugins for everything. Who knows who made the plugin, what code is running sidelined, or if the plugin will stay updated? All of these reasons are why we do not use plugins and make everything ourselves. Can't hack what isn't hackable!
This is an interesting question because there are constant updates in the background that do need to be done, especially when a cms is added, but will your website itself ever suddenly become vulnerable? No, we compile websites offline and use the static files to display the website. Thankfully, pure HTML and CSS do not degrade over time. In fact, many of the early websites on the internet only used early versions of HTML and CSS. While they may not be the best styled, the styling capabilities of CSS have come a long way, those old websites are all standing unhacked for a reason.
This answer, I suppose, could vary depending on who you ask, but for us, yes, they are. Since the nature of HTML and CSS is largely not hackable, when we do use a language that could introduce a vulnerability, like JavaScript, we use it sparingly and ensure all packages do not have known CVEs (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures).
A good exmaple of where we are using JS on this page would be for this FAQ dropdown to handle the animation between categories, and the navbar for mobile/smaller screens. We believe is seperation of duties and allowing each language to do what they are best at.That's the cool part about static websites and using pure HTML and CSS. The languages themselves are not hackable. We specifically use pure HTML and CSS instead of fancy frameworks for this very reason.
